United Closes Pre-Season Well

After many months of anticipation and a five game pre-season that lacked the real feel of league games, Surrey United is on the eve of their inaugural appearance in the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League. In the weeks following their exhibitions with the Surrey United U-14 Boys, U-16 Boys and Premier Women, United took on some of their league opponents in Coquitlam Metro Ford and South Fraser.

United lacked any real venom against CMF and gave up some dangerous scoring chances to the Coquitlam boys, but they did manage to narrowly outscore them by the final whistle. South Fraser a week later was a much better performance with United holding more possession and creating more high quality scoring chances while limiting South Fraser to very few. Surrey United kept the clean sheet and got the result for what its worth in the pre-season.

In other news, the U-15's have added a new player to the roster in Luke Warkentin. Luke played his previous seasons in Prince George and has moved to the Lower Mainland to join Surrey United. Luke will likely make his first appearance in week two.

Up next, in the league opener, are the Magnusen Ford Mariners where Surrey United will play away in Abbotsford
